Description

Kesariani is a highly productive Greek fig named after the town of Kesariani near Athens, and has developed a strong reputation among collectors for its reliability, long harvest season, and rich berry flavor. The fruit is generally small and round with dark purple to black skin and a deep red interior. Despite its modest size, Kesariani delivers a thick, jammy texture and concentrated flavor, featuring notes of mixed berries, berry preserves, and subtle sweetness that intensify as the fruit fully ripens. The thin skin is pleasant to eat, while the dense pulp creates a rich, dessert-quality experience. Growers often praise the variety as a "workhorse" because of its heavy production, early-ripening main crop, and extended harvest that can continue well into fall, sometimes even after light frosts. With dependable cropping, abundant brebas, and excellent berry-rich flavor, Kesariani has earned a reputation as one of the more dependable and rewarding Greek fig varieties for both collectors and home growers.

Where this can ship

Ships to 46 of 51 US states and DC.

Not to: AZ, FL, HI, OR and WA

Why these states

Checked against the National Plant Board state summaries (opens in a new tab), last reviewed August 27, 2026. This is a platform default, not legal advice, and the Plant Board says its own summaries are not legally binding. Your state is checked again against the real delivery address after payment, and an order that can't legally travel is refunded rather than shipped. How buying works.

If something goes wrong

Plants die in transit, parcels go missing, and occasionally someone sends the wrong thing. In order, this is what you do.

  1. Message the seller. Use the button on this listing, so the conversation stays attached to the order. Most problems are a misunderstanding, and most sellers would rather replace a plant, or refund you, than carry a complaint.
  2. Failing that, your card issuer. Every payment here runs on a card through Stripe, so you keep the chargeback rights that come with it. You raise them with the bank that issued the card, which is the party actually holding the money. This is the reason to pay through checkout rather than by any transfer a seller suggests instead. Your order page walks you through it and names the card you used.
  3. Report it to us. Report a problem on the order. It is not a refund request and it does not open a claim. It is how we find out, and it is the only way we can act.
  4. What we do about it. A seller who repeatedly ships dead material, ships the wrong variety, or does not ship at all loses the ability to sell here. On a small marketplace that is the only real currency there is, and it is why reporting matters even when your own order gets sorted out.

Being straight about the limit: FigStead is the venue, not the seller. We never hold your money, never see the plant, and cannot reverse a payment or decide who is right about what was in the box, which is exactly why steps 1 and 2 are where they are. The formal version is in the Terms, and Staying safe has the longer walkthrough.
