Description

The Bakor Fig Tree is one of those varieties that has a striking appearance and incredible flavor. This is a fig that looks exotic, tastes amazing, and grows with vigor. If you love figs with bold colors and rich, jammy interiors, Bakor is going to become one of your favorites. The tree itself is strong, upright, and productive, with a growth habit that fills out beautifully. It responds well to pruning and shaping, and once established, it pushes out fruit with impressive consistency. Bakor is known for its excellent rain resistance, which is a huge bonus for growers in climates where late‑season storms can ruin delicate varieties. Fruit Description: It produces small to medium fruit with a multi-colored exterior with some cracking and a super-sweet, honey interior. In comparing it to Zaffiro, there is NO comparison. The flavor of the Bakor wins that contest every time. The skin is similar to fruit leather giving it better rain resistance than many dark figs. It is intensely sweet, thick and complex. The seeds are small and add a pleasant crunch. Characteristics: It is a vigorous with finger-like leaf structure; upright grower that responds well to shaping and produces consistently once established. It is known for its excellent rain resistance, making it a reliable performer even in climates with late‑season storms. Bakor ripens in the mid‑to‑late season, sets fruit heavily, and thrives in full sun with strong heat tolerance. Its thin but resilient skin. Common.

Where this can ship

Ships to 46 of 51 US states and DC.

Not to: AZ, FL, HI, OR and WA

Why these states

Checked against the National Plant Board state summaries (opens in a new tab), last reviewed August 27, 2026. This is a platform default, not legal advice, and the Plant Board says its own summaries are not legally binding. Your state is checked again against the real delivery address after payment, and an order that can't legally travel is refunded rather than shipped. How buying works.

If something goes wrong

Plants die in transit, parcels go missing, and occasionally someone sends the wrong thing. In order, this is what you do.

  1. Message the seller. Use the button on this listing, so the conversation stays attached to the order. Most problems are a misunderstanding, and most sellers would rather replace a plant, or refund you, than carry a complaint.
  2. Failing that, your card issuer. Every payment here runs on a card through Stripe, so you keep the chargeback rights that come with it. You raise them with the bank that issued the card, which is the party actually holding the money. This is the reason to pay through checkout rather than by any transfer a seller suggests instead. Your order page walks you through it and names the card you used.
  3. Report it to us. Report a problem on the order. It is not a refund request and it does not open a claim. It is how we find out, and it is the only way we can act.
  4. What we do about it. A seller who repeatedly ships dead material, ships the wrong variety, or does not ship at all loses the ability to sell here. On a small marketplace that is the only real currency there is, and it is why reporting matters even when your own order gets sorted out.

Being straight about the limit: FigStead is the venue, not the seller. We never hold your money, never see the plant, and cannot reverse a payment or decide who is right about what was in the box, which is exactly why steps 1 and 2 are where they are. The formal version is in the Terms, and Staying safe has the longer walkthrough.
