Description
This is an airlayer off my 5-yr old potted Tena fig tree. This is a very unique fig with a taste like white grapes. The tree is very vigorous and wants to bush out however, I have trained mine to be a single trunk tree. It is a heavy producer once established, but it does take a couple of years before it will give you figs. I believe that air layers, tend to fruit, faster than rooted cuttings. Shipping Policy: Orders completed and paid within 24 hours will be taken to mail facility: For Cuttings: Next day unless freeze conditions, extenuating or holiday circumstances. Combined shipping almost always (except if additional shipments are required due to envelope capacity). For Rooted Cuttings/Trees: The following Monday/Tuesday (provided it is not a federal holiday). This is to prevent overnight delays at shipper facilities and to allow time for careful packaging. Combined shipping will NOT be offered; however, you may contact me to see if we can find an option to do so. • Shipping is conducted via USPS or UPS with an estimated delivery window of 3–4 business days; however, delays may occur beyond my control. (I've noticed that packages to TX tend to get delayed.) • Shipments will not occur if local or destination temperatures are 32°F or lower. The shipment will be held and delayed for more favorable weather. Customers are advised to monitor their local weather conditions prior to ordering. I assume no responsibility for shipping delays, damages, losses, or stolen packages once the item is handed over to the carrier. Any claims must be filed directly with the carrier. Packaging Information In order to fit within a standard 24” shipping container, trees may be trimmed or gently bent based on shoot flexibility. • If you prefer an extended-length shipping container (up to 36”), please request a price adjustment before completing payment. Restrictions • No international shipping is available at this time. • No shipments of rooted cuttings will be made to HI, AK, CA, AZ, PR, Guam, or the Marshall Islands. • However, standard cuttings can be shipped to CA and AZ. All you have to do is reach out to me and I will temporarily disable the block for your purchase.
Where this can ship
Ships to 45 of 51 US states and DC.
Not to: AZ, CA, FL, HI, OR and WA
Why these states
- Affects: AZ — Arizona, A.A.C. R3-4-202 — Domestic Importation, read the summary (opens in a new tab)Arizona requires every incoming nursery stock shipment to carry an inspection certificate, and counts cuttings, buds, grafts and scions as nursery stock.
- Affects: CA — California, CCR 3280 — Japanese beetle, read the summary (opens in a new tab)California prohibits plants with roots in soil from the Japanese beetle states unless an official certificate of treatment or origin travels with the shipment. Material free of soil — bare-root plants and unrooted cuttings — is not covered by this one.
- Affects: FL — Florida, Florida nursery stock entry requirements, read the summary (opens in a new tab)Florida requires the shipper to be a registered or certified nursery in their own state, and a certificate of inspection on every package.
- Affects: HI — Hawaii, Hawaii general shipping requirements, read the summary (opens in a new tab)Hawaii holds all incoming plant material at the point of arrival for inspection, and regulates soil whether or not it is attached to a plant. Nothing may be released until it has been inspected and passed.
- Affects: OR — Oregon, ORS 571.135 and ORS 571.220, read the summary (opens in a new tab)Oregon requires all nursery stock from other states to carry a shipping certificate issued by the origin state's agriculture department.
- Affects: WA — Washington, Washington general shipping requirements, read the summary (opens in a new tab)Washington requires a certificate of inspection on every package of nursery stock entering the state.
Checked against the National Plant Board state summaries (opens in a new tab), last reviewed August 27, 2026. This is a platform default, not legal advice — the Plant Board says its own summaries are not legally binding. Your state is checked again against the real delivery address after payment, and an order that can't legally travel is refunded rather than shipped. How buying works.
If something goes wrong
Plants die in transit, parcels go missing, and occasionally someone sends the wrong thing. In order, this is what you do.
- Message the seller. Use the button on this listing, so the conversation stays attached to the order. Most problems are a misunderstanding, and most sellers would rather replace a plant, or refund you, than carry a complaint.
- Failing that, your card issuer. Every payment here runs on a card through Stripe, so you keep the chargeback rights that come with it — raised with the bank that issued the card, which is the party actually holding the money. This is the reason to pay through checkout rather than by any transfer a seller suggests instead. Your order page walks you through it and names the card you used.
- Report it to us. Report a problem on the order. It is not a refund request and it does not open a claim — it is how we find out, and it is the only way we can act.
- What we do about it. A seller who repeatedly ships dead material, ships the wrong variety, or does not ship at all loses the ability to sell here. On a small marketplace that is the only real currency there is, and it is why reporting matters even when your own order gets sorted out.
Being straight about the limit: FigStead is the venue, not the seller. We never hold your money, never see the plant, and cannot reverse a payment or decide who is right about what was in the box — which is exactly why steps 1 and 2 are where they are. The formal version is in the Terms, and Staying safe has the longer walkthrough.
